Application process

If you’re interested in applying for a position with Rhode Island City Service, you’ve come to the right place. The State of Rhode Island has a new online application system called ApplyRI. This application system is completely secure, and only authorized employees of the State of Rhode Island’s Human Resources Department can see the information you submit.

Applicants must provide all necessary documentation, including income, family size, and type of fuel. You must also submit your application and all current documentation. If you’re a veteran, you can request a bus pass, which can provide you with transportation.

A Rhode Island City Service member’s role is to represent the interests of municipal governments before the state legislature. They also represent municipal interests before state administrative agencies and provide technical assistance to cities and towns. The League also provides training to members. Members receive Compass, a quarterly member newsletter.

The Rhode Island House of Representatives has 75 seats and is up for election again in 2022. The Democratic Party controls both houses of the state legislature and the governor’s office. A member of the State House of Representatives receives a salary of $16,835 per year. No per diem is paid.
